The day started like any other… busy. Celeste was on-the-go as usual, doing laundry and various housework. Her back ached all morning but she attributed it to all she had been doing. We had plans to have dinner with Helen and Sideshow, and Celeste was still up for it. On the ride to Wasabi in Simsbury, Celeste was feeling a bit of occasional discomfort. She called the doctor and tried to determine it they were in fact contractions. Like the trooper she is, Celeste, toughed it out and made it through dinner and Helen quickly got us home. Celeste wanted a drink and to lie down and as soon as we got home she went up to bed and I brought her a glass of water. Just as I started showing Helen and Sideshow the newly completed baby’s room, Celeste exclaimed, “We’re having a baby!” Shocked, I said “What!?” Celeste replied, “My water broke!” Now my panic sets in, and I am frantic, what do I do? Remarkably, at that moment the phone rings, and it’s my sister Tammy (it was as if she somehow knew). She calmed me down and said to get moving to the hospital.
We quickly gathered a few things and hoped into the car. At this point the contractions we already only 2-3 minutes apart. The ride to the hospital was quick. We were admitted and taken to one of the birthing rooms. One of the resident doctors checked Celeste and was surprised that she was already dilated 9 cm! She also thought she felt the baby’s butt coming through and quickly summonsed the doctor and bought in the ultrasound machine. Low and behold, our little girl was breech and more then ready to get out. Things moved quick at this point, the only option was a quick c-section. Luckily the spinal anesthesia worked, and Celeste was awake for the procedure and I could be there with her. Our little girl was officially delivered at 9:49 PM and soon after I got to hold her in my arms - so tiny and so cute.
Here she is…

We even decided on a name…
